Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC 2011, 12.5%. This is an interesting and unique wine that needs years of refinement in the bottle. I tasted a very young bottle (only two years old) and at the nose it was quite simply bad: sulphuric, with intense smell of cheese crust, not pleasant at all!
In the mouth it's rather different, delicate and pleasant, with flavors of camomile and herbs.
I've been told that people open the bottle up to 2 days prior drinking, which I think is just too much aggravation, however it's probably because I do not understand this wine!

Brilliant, pure and laced with minerality, tart citrus fruit, addition of fresh almonds and white flowers. Medium-bodied, elegant and complex, layered and personally conducted.

Noble reduction envelopes the melon-pear aromas of this "common" white variety. This is all about the human hand and its ability to transmit attributes that evoke pleasure. Terrific.

Sep 7th, 2016Initial H2S ( rotten eggs) blows off within 5 mins after opening revealing aromas of essential oils and citrus. More convincing is the length and weight w/o being tannic or cloying. Slight C02 adds lift. This exemplifies great viticulture: quality fruit with impressive extract from Trebbiano no less!!
