Mar 14th, 2017Not quite as good as the '01, but still a fantastic wine for the price.

Jun 25th, 2016Light red, not as much brick hue as expected.
Leathery, slight clove. Very leathery but it doesn't take like bad Brett. Dark fruit and plum, blackberry. Cassis. Sawdust? Ethyl acetate.
Tannins are light, vanilla flavor. Bit of barnyard. Straw and musty. Thin body. Bramble note. Astringency is light but present. Acidity well balanced.

Aug 12th, 2017A truly unique take on Nebbiolo. Still shows the floral & red berry aromatics, but somewhat lighter bodied than typical Piedmont Neb. More acidic in structure than a tannic beast and showing bright fresh red fruit to spare. Thoroughly enjoyed this on a warm evening.

Aug 7th, 2017Smelled like asphalt and crushed flowers, great balance across palate, incredibly clean tannin, some earth but floral, wow!

Jun 23rd, 2017Maybe a dud bottle (or drinker) but "thin" rather than "elegant" and "needs food" rather than "food wine". Needed decanting to blow off on opening, and was completely expired after 24 hours. Bit of a disappointment.
