Delicious, crisp and fruity, underpinned by the buttery richness of the Chardonnay. — 3 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Best on Day 1 and 2. The 2017 Inferno, Fiamme Antiche pours a deep garnet color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart fruit: Morello cherry, roses, espresso, leather, alpine herbs and granitic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Elegant and ever so lovely. Drink now through 2037. Tobacco, oak, leather. Red and black fruits with some spices. — 10 days ago
Needs an hour decant. Prior to that discombobulated.
Immensely age worthy.
Nose: exquisite. Virgin pink roses. White flowers. The musk of beauty. So precise.
Hint of orange peel as it opens.
Palate: this ephemeral embryo of a cherry. Hint of cocoa. Silky. Just perfect.

Slightly less open knit than the Grumello but ultimately very similar. Bright juicy berries, roses, earth and rock texture. Opens up with a half hour of air. Great for current drinking — 7 days ago
