Felt a little shutdown at the moment. Good wine but needs another 5 to come around.

Jan 3rd, 2024Very much in the tart and tangy register at the moment, this could perhaps develop some more dimension with time.

A Barolo wearing a paisley tie. Very fresh, medium minus body. Would have guessed five-year old Nebbiolo.

Felt a bit tired. Some drive in finish but lacking energy.

Oct 16th, 2025Originally tasted back to back from Rosso to Rocca de Piro then this. This time had it with ‘16 Barolo, interesting to see how much they’re different from each other given the fact that both are from Nebbiolo. Slightly lighter than Barolo but more lively and energetic, notes of cherry and fresh oak with gentle smokiness. Absolutely enjoyed it!

On a warm Italian summer night with home made Ricotta/Spinach tortelloni this Nebbiolo style gem was really showing off. Smoky at first, oaky and metallic later, and finally thin and caressing at the end - wonderful experience.
