Jul 24th, 2016First ever beer rating. A bit surprised by some of the other comments. This is a 10% Double IPA, I don't think there's any fruit - except maybe watermelon - that wouldn't taste ridiculous given how heavy this beer is. It's summer lighten up squares. Speaking of lightening up, the watermelon juice added to mix turns this mid winter suppressant into a a hot weather spirit and heat lifting ipa packing serious punch. I don't want more than 1-2 at a time, but those are enjoyable as hell.

The watermelon flavor is amazing - out of all fruit-flavored beers I've tried, this tastes the most like it should. More of a novelty beer than a session drink though.

The General consensus, is everyone hates this beer, and is very very disappointed, because it comes from one of the finest breweries in the world, well I personally do not hate it, but I am disappointed, too much fake and sweet watermelon notes, but I think watermelon is not a flavor that leans well to beer in General, mango, grapefruit, pineapple, goes when, like they have done, even peepers when done right, so this is a real big mistake, but a mistake that took a lot of guts to put out, is it really that bad as others have stated, no, just not that great, because it is Ballast Point and us beer geeks were expecting greatness, and so I feel you should give them Credit for trying and yet failing still, I am not so upset as others, had it, did not care for too much, will not buy it again, but did not hate it or hate the brewery for trying something very different
