Consortium Cabernet Sauvignon

A nice and balanced glass of wine with depth. Darker fruits, moderate oak influence. Drinks well now.

I had no idea that the Band of Vintners Consortium project was intended to be a continuous project, but after the success of their inaugural 2014 vintage, getting the band back together for the 2015 was probably inevitable. The band's collective insider knowledge of how to source the best Napa fruit was proven with the 2014, and is reiterated with the 2015. While the 2014 seemed evident of Spring Mountain roots, the 2015 leans more towards Rutherford. The dust comes through immediately, and is derived from a mix of cocoa powder, cassis, black cherry, black currant, cranberry and baking spice. The 2015 rivals the quality of 2014, with the advantage of being immediately approachable. An absolutely stellar Napa Cabernet value.

Great Napa cab at this price point. Fresh, flavorful. May lack complexity but it’s a fun bottle to pop and pour.

Love this 2015 Napa Cab. Outstanding mouth feel. Tannins are silky smooth. The finish is long lasting.

Such a stellar project brought forth by Band of Vintners 👊🏻 Comprised of Mark Porembski, Stephane Vivier, Dan Petroski, Cameron Hobel, Barrett Anderson, Brennan Anderson, and Jason Heller, the BoV pulled strings, called in favors, worked their networks, and utilized their collective winemaking experience to produce this outstanding QPR selection. It’s classic Napa through-and-through with black currant, blackberry liqueur, fresh boysenberry, black cherry, damp violets, coffee, fresh leather, tobacco, and a flawless hint of vanilla and baking spices. This soft and silky offering is dynamite; I’m glad I have more on hand and that it can be purchased right down the road from me. This is a win 💪🏻
