Barham Mendelsohn
Estate Grown Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Partnership w/Jim Clendenen at Au Bon Climat. Barbara Barham & Richard Mendelsohn planted 5 acres of Pinot on Lala Panzi Ranch in the RRV. They had similar visions on Pinot’s & thus led to this partnership. Aged in predominately new Allier & Vosges wood. Aromas of berry fruits with dusty earthy nose. On the palate, berry flavors come forth with hints of tea & spice. Medium+ length, fine tannins, ending with earthy mushroom character, it was good, lost its luster, at its prime now!

May 28th, 2020A partnership with Jim Clendenen at Au Bon Climat. In 1998, Barbara Barham & Richard Mendelsohn planted 5 acres of Pinot on Lala Panzi Ranch in the RRV. They had similar visions on Pinot’s and thus led to this partnership. Aged in predominately new Allier & Vosges wood. Aromas of berry fruits with a dusty earthy nose. On the palate, berry flavors come forth with hints of tea & spice. Medium length, sticky tannins, ending with earthy character, to me it was good but lacked luster you get from a younger Pinot. Tasting Sample!

Mar 12th, 201912’ Love Jim Clendenen wines. Almost impossible to find a good Pinot Noir for $40 in Russian River Valley. For the money all of his wines are tough to beat. Except the overpriced Harbison wines that he produces. ( Russell Bevan makes Harbison Cabernets & Jim makes the others) IMO. Edit- Find a 2012 (at this price)that’s drinking this nice from the same area? This has many years left in the bottle!
