Sipping Fine Wine

Bright Ruby with fresh red fruit aromas and a touch of oak and spice. Aged for 24 months, 50% American oak, 50% French oak, plus 3 years in the bottle before release. On the palate cherry and blueberry with pepper, tobacco and cacao spice with lively acidity and good balance. Fine soft tannins, medium finish ending with toasty oaky spice character. Nice value!

Powerful and fruit forward Rioja. Bold purple color. Mostly Tempranillo with small amounts of Graciano (15%) and Maturana (5%). There are some notes of mushroom, dark chocolate, herbs and balsamic vinegar, but this wine is dominated by intense red berry fruit. Long finish and soft tannins. This one needs food. Revisited in October 2021. Notes above still apply but more floral (rose petals and violets) on the nose than last time I had this wine. Deep ruby color. Revisited again in February 2022. Even more floral than previous tastings. Revisited again in July 2023 out of a jeroboam. Beautifully fresh! Outstanding!

V08. Very good. White pepper and cedar nose. Fresh raspberry blends with rich blackberry and tar fruit. Chewy, tight , peppery finish.
