Pretty good Barolo, supposedly legendary vintage, bargain from wineark, but god forgive me their Langhe Nebbiolo may be better.

Decanted for an hour. Needed time to open. Catching some anise character on the nose. Some perceptible heat on the palate but not off putting. Great pairing with steak.

is it the company or is it the wine? I don't know, but this wine is killer. Perfect blend of earth, fruit, tannim and acid. Drank at Scena with mushroom flatbread and later at the movies! Amazing!

Now this is what I love in a Barolo. Powerfully redolent and herbal, with clove and mint leading the charge across the palate, followed by delicate but abundant cherries, rose and tobacco. There is a slight acetone note bringing down the party, perhaps due to some volatile acidity, whether intentional or not. Still very tasty. A bit less sharp and more integrated on day 2, with the acetone notes calming considerably.

So much elegance, finesse, delicacy, but by no means slight. Remarkably open for a '10 but with all the structure & stuffing to go the distance.
