This is an older bottle and it shows. Brick-red edge. A bit cloudy as well. Aroma is classic Napa. Or is it? Also reminds me of Boudreaux. Merlot based Boudreaux. Smells kinda like cooked dark fruit sauces. Plenty of the mysterious cassis in there too. Lots of cherry stuff as well. Flavors are nice if a bit oxidized. Some berries and a hint of mocha. A savory element comes later. Napa or Alexander Valley Cab is the reference here. It’s good. Aged nicely. Juicy and flavorful, perfect with a juicy steak. The meaty wine goes with the meat to a T. Drank it to celebrated the retirement of Giants skipper Bruce Botchy. Fits.
