Tonight I was having Fermin Chorizo Iberico and aged cheddars, so thought that a Drop or two of Tempranillo would be a good match. We bought a reasonable supply of Montecillo Rioja bottles several years ago at the Toronto Hunt so I grabbed the base model, the '07 Crianza tonight. Initial impression was good colour, soft fruits and raisins are on the nose. The palate also shows plum notes and has some decent tannin to balance the fruit. Quite a nice finish that is medium length. Overall an enjoyable match for the Spanish sausage!
