Not a big california chardonnay fan but this one is one of the most interesting ones I've had. 50% of fermentation on new American oak then the whole thing is aged longer on more new American oak. Might as well go bourbon barrel I say.
Nose is oak and banana but as it warms you get vanilla, citrus and buttercream. Flavor is straight oak with some strong acid and tannin. Some citrus and peach shine through with vanilla finishing.
