Bogle Family Vineyards
Essential Old Vine California Zinfandel Blend
Beautiful nose of spice, toast, and dark cherry. Definitely rather sweet, but you can't exactly expect old-world acid and complexity in a budget bottle of bogle. Not bad for the dollar, and I'm sure my non-wine-snob friends would thoroughly enjoy

Old vine blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet sauvignon and Petite Sirah, aged in American oak for 12 months. Ripe dark berry fruit, slightly jammy. Spicy finish with rather rustic tannins and medium length. 2013 vintage.Good value at 14.50 euro.

Sep 5th, 2016Very palatable blend. Bold and sticky but a lighter mouthfeel that allows me to drink... Almost the whole bottle. #oops

They should just put a giant California flag on the front of this wine. It's an opulent blend of zin, syrah, cab. Lush and big, with lots of overripe fruit. Creamy and oak saturated. Punches well above it's price range. I rather have 4 bottles of this than 1 bottle of prisoner.

May 22nd, 2015Unexpectedly good, a little different. Not too fruity, strong oaks and a dab of chocolate toward the end. Liked it. Needed to air out a minute.

Dec 21st, 2016Good smell, slight oak flavor off the tongue. Nice medium blend, not too strong of tannins. Good fruity flavor (blackberry) with a nice dry finish.
