Old Vine California Zinfandel

A little peppery and spicy but smooth and not that bold for a zinfandel. Slightly jammy.

Raisins. Jam. Deep. Good quality.

Deep purple in color it is a beautiful wine to look at. The nose is jammy dark fruit (primarily blackberry), vanilla, and wood. The palate is blackberry and pepper with smooth tannins. It feels rather thin though given it’s 14.5% ABV. The finish is a warm black pepper with some short lived heat along the edges of the tongue.

Always a solid pick for a casual glass

Solidly drinkable, so fruity it’s almost just alcohol and juice, does have a non-complex earth note

Berry and smoke on the nose. Flavor is classic OVZ with a bit of zip and zing. Berry sauce and cherry candies. Simple but pleasing.
