Black current, prunes, red cherry and scent of violet quickly turns to impressive secondary note of dried herbs, pencil lead, tobacco, dark chocolate and hint of barnyard. In the palate it’s full and rich, but finely balanced, with bittersweet tannins.
40%/35%/25% Merlot/CS/CF, 6 month used French oak barrel. This is the first release of the second wine of Orma, and I think it’s better than La Volte, the 2nd wine of its next door neighbor Ornellaia.
