Bond
Vecina Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

@Benjamin Keator had his hosting at the CC tonight and it was absolutely incredible. What a night of gorgeous wines! All wines are guessed blind.
5 reds tonight. 5 Bonds. Insane. I’m not going to try and evaluate each one as if they were crazy different because honestly, I found it fairly easy to determine all were from the same producer. That being said, I guessed all 5 reds were from the same producer and waffled between a horizontal or vertical...I ultimately chose vertical (which was wrong). I guessed all were Napa cabs. This was my favorite red of the evening, and the one I think has the most potential. Not sure how this vineyard normally stacks up, but it has everything in spades. Dark cocoa, bay leaf, mint, underripe blackberry, black cherry core, and a graphite like finish. It’s young but so powerful!

1 hour decant(lots of chunky/fine sediment) yesterday....unexpected guests (beer drinkers) arrive so had to cork and put back in the cellar for today. An imposing deep garnet color with some bricking. On the nose: red fruit, loamy soil, floral, vanilla, minty pine. Taste: smooth, rich, elegant wine with ripe black fruit, dark chocolate, cedar, gravel, and a peppery charcoal dry long finish. YUM

We opened this for a pre New Years wine and it was a bit young to drink since we could not decant or wait for a few hours. A very rich and balance wine; chocolate on the finish. Lots of tannic structure that we evolve.
