Vecina Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Luscious tannins-now pure silk.

I’m usually not a fan of Vecina - just too euro tasting for me. But this? I could become a fan.

Deep flavors. Still young.

Playing catch up on some bottles. When I get offers from the Harlan/Bond/Promontory/Maiden family I always pull the trigger on the Bond and get a single from each “terroir” and Vecina is the most consistently spectacular (although Pluribus is my favorite most years). A very muscular wine with teeth staining purple fruit, supple rich tannins and a burnt cedar mixed with chocolate lava taste profile. This was decanted at home for 2 hours, returned to the bottle and decanted for an additional hour at the restaurant. You can’t go wrong with Bond. Yes I know the prices are getting more and more lofty but to me Delectable is about what’s in the bottle. I certainly wouldn’t recommend you buy a Vecina over buying baby formula or making a car payment....but it is an undeniable guilty expensive pleasure.

Bramble and toffee on the nose. Dark chocolate and a lifted blackberry note dominates the palate with silken tannins. Very friendly

I would of loved to taste this side by side with the N&N Martin Stelling

2012 Bond Vecina

Not sure a comment will suffice. Not many wines are worth this price, but every time I I drink this, it seems to be right up there.

Just delicious and ready to drink. Perfect with steak from Mezza. Made dinner memorable.
