Nice nose still shows some youthful angularity, but sports ripe, dark cherry, a little smoky barrel spice, and turned forest soil. On entry the palate displays nicely concentrated, vibrant cherry fruit and a bit of crushed rock minerality, very nice acidity. A tad bit of bitterness on the finish detracts slightly, but I’m betting that in 2 years that will be gone as tannin settles out.
