A fair amount of heat on the nose. Slightly overpowers the cola, cherry stem and crushed fruit scents. Dark fruit but not too jammy and raspberries, then a touch of bay leaf and spices on the palate. Becomes a little more nuanced the next day, and may meld better (though perfectly nice now) with another 3-4 years (tasted Feb 2019). Impressive for under $20. This is a wine born for Bolognese.
