I felt like $65 for an ‘82 Napa was a fine gamble, and I’m not certain, but I think I came out on top in this transaction.
While it’s definitely past it’s prime, there are still some really interesting takeaways. Dark brick red color, not yet brown. Aged leather and dark fruit are prominent aromas. I am tasting some dried plums and figs with the ever so slight blackberry. There is still some acidity, few tannins, left. I think my parents got married in ‘82. Very fun!
