When you open a under $40 Napa cab that’s well past it’s drinking window on paper, but it blows your socks off!
Beautiful dark berries, chocolate, and tobacco.

Smoky, leather, anise and dark black cherry. Smooth tannins with a full body and medium finish. Expected s little more for the price point but a nice wine.

I tried. I really did. I just could even finish a glass of this. For starters, it's just far too acidic: the nose is right at the front of the nose, no depth to it at all. The taste bears this out: very flat, not real character or complexity, and the fruit is almost non-existent, completely overpowered by a taste I disliked, but just couldn't place.

2005 Burgess Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Black cherry, licorice and oak. Leathery. Good.
