Good value on list. Young. High tannins with some grip. Should be better Day 2.

Sadly I have had a very hit or miss relationship with Mascarello’s wines. Perhaps I just drink these wines at the wrong time in their evolution. I found even with lots of time in the glass it never came around. Found it to be disjointed and austere. I thought at age 5 this would be starting to drink well.

Bright, grapey and grippy initially. Tannins become a little dusty and the fruit veers towards cherry and plum. This has a light feel though it is anything but a light wine. Reminds me of very good Cru Beaujolais.

Still tannic in October 2022, but still delicious. Consumed too quickly to see if it would mellow after a couple hours.
