Popped and poured; DIAM cork. The 2015 Casa Emma CC pours a deep ruby color with a translucent but near opaque core with no obvious staining of the tears. Medium viscosity. On the nose, medium+ intensity with notes of super funky cherry (not Brett), dried herbs, porcini, menthol and cardamom. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Finish is medium and satisfying. Confirmed are the notes of cherry accompanied by dusty earth notes and orange bitters. Drink now and enjoy.

Apr 27th, 2022Wanted to try this while young (4 years old) to compare as it ages. The 2015s are powerful expressions of the classic Chianti. Very fruit forward with surprisingly little acidity. Dried cherry and blackberry stood out. Paired well with gourmet pizza. Visited Casa Emma in 2015 so naturally think this is a great bottle.
