Malty baked apple and fermenting strawberry nose, with a jungle back note. Pure pepper up front and a charred oak and black plum essence. Pepper and pencil lead persist as the fruit expands into a black cherry and hint of mushroom and rich composte. Great value here, if a somewhat abrupt ending.

I really enjoy a nice Carmenere having been introduced to this varietal on business trips to Chile. Typically a great complement to grilled meats, this somewhat young Carmenere (2020 vintage) did not disappoint! Ripe berries but with just a touch of a oeppery finish is a nice pairing with the flank steak, grilled Serranos, roasted sweet potatoes and chimichurri sauce we had for dinner. Not sure how much variety there is between vintages but the 2020 seems like a good one!

Bold, a little zesty, but not overbearing.
