Initial notes of dried meat and pepper faded later. Some herbs and plum skin characters. Lacks fruit and is somewhat astringent. Disappointing for price and reputation.

Would you hate me if I used 'mysterious' as a descriptor? Who cares, this is. It's bloody lovely and complex and refreshing and just beautiful!

Classy Beechworth fruit with a distinctly herbaceous character. Nose is deep complex fruit with a big dose of barnyard funk and menthol. Palate is Med bodied, with brambly fruit and eucalyptus notes. Quite a stemmy character. Reminds me of Piedmont in body, elegance, and tannic grip. Still lots of life ahead. Good balance.

Fabulous nose. Ripe blackcurrant mixed with high toned red fruit. Some mushroom/leather/forest floor funk action as well. Would confuse this for N Rhone. Palate has distinctive red fruit character, with quite sharp acidity. Incredibly fresh and aromatic, with lovely balance and mouthfeel. No more than Med bodied but very pure, totally seamless, and very very long.
