This was a monolithic monster and undoubtedly the biggest wine of the night. A young gun from the young gun @Shay A I loved drinking it side by side with the ‘64 Barolo. So much delicious stuffing. Decant the F out of this.

Night 1 of the Fall WNH event in San Antonio. What a killer start to the extended weekend, all courtesy to Shawn and Jennifer for hosting! Tonight was Italian wines.
This was my second contributed bottle. AG rates this 100pts. Just a few years from its prime drinking window! Red and black fruit medley. So ripe and earth driven. The entry and mid palate are bright fruit but the finish turns dark and tannic...strawberry tart & crushed potpourri. I would love to try this again in 5-7yrs!

Perfection. Unbelievable balance, great concentration and totally seamless, this is simply amazing! Sweet and grainy tannins coats the palate, providing depth and longevity, but at the same time unbelievable drinkability thanks to its ripe cherry and black currant fruit complements. Fine-tuned, yet damn obvious minerality bringing length and complexity. How did they do it???

Jul 23rd, 2015Slight yardy but nice coffee grounds on nose, with earthy and leather notes. Soft yet still has some tannin. Really enjoyed it.

Cedar and graphite nose, sublime balance between acidity and fruit (slightly more towards the acidity) clearly showing it has a bright future ahead. Silky and smooth. Intruiging, kept my attention all the time. Bravo! 👏
