2012 Varvara Bolgheri brought to us by Castello di Bolgheri. This my just be my favorite Super Tuscan ever! If you like Super Tuscan wines, you better try this one. Although the bouquet is weak with hints of rose pedals, the initial palate immediately gives us spice and chocolate. There is dark berry and green apples. The finish is not very dry and leaves a tingle on your lips. Over all , it is a light wine that is heavier than a pinot and lighter than a cab. Not as spicy as a big zinfandel, but more bang than a merlot. BUY IT!
