Castello di Bossi
Riserva Berardo Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend
Really fantastic with food. Wonderful cherry notes without being in any way cloying. Or at least with mushrooms braised extensively with garlic and the wine, and halibut. Would definitely buy again.

Oct 18th, 2021This is one of those year in year out reliable Italians that we seem to take for granted but really shouldn’t.
Medium garnet color with purple undertones and a wide brim. Super classic Chianti characteristics all over this. Dark chocolate and dried cherries on the nose. A dash of vanilla to go with the sharp spice. Give it air for around an hour and it really starts to blossom with Newports and baked plums.
It’s unfair to think of this as just a weekday wine, it really is good enough to open at any time. Lush and balanced quite well. It’s a bit sterner than I expected but I don’t count that as a fault. Walks that line between rusticity and utter refinement well. Medium bodied and showing grainy herbs, mocha, and dark berries on the palate. For the price you can buy a case of these and enjoy drinking them whenever.
