Tangy fresh Chinon. It's lying around and nice with hard cow cheese.

Jouguet is a classic producer but this cuvée comes up a bit short. More stemmy than pyrazine-y and a bit dilute this comes across more like Gamay than good Chinon.

Hit the spot but had this a couple of weeks ago and quite frankly don't remember much about it!

More Joguet! First time trying the '14s of this cuvée. Overall quite similar to the 13's, on the more lithe side of Chinon. Slightly darker fruit character in this one. Not one to put away for *that* much of an extended period of time by any means, but still at the moment I'd recommend giving it a bit of air to show best and it could maybe wait another year or two in the cellar before it's at it's best. Nose of slightly underripe blackberry and black cherry, a bouquet of fresh red roses, pencil shavings and crushed graphite minerality, and some of that classic Cab Franc green bell pepper and coriander character. On the palate it shows character pretty similar to the nose but with a bit more fruit and mineral intensity. Medium (+) acid, med (-) to medium body, fine grained medium (-) tannin. Would be a nice choice for a juicy burger wine, especially if the burger in question is topped with a bit of fresh jalapeño.
