On the nose, very floral and red-fruit scented; with secondary scents of spice, leather, pencil shavings and earth. On the palate, silky tannin, medium+ body, medium acidity, with a good bit of minerality going into an adequately long finish. From an assemblage of 54% Cab Sauv, 44% Merlot, 1% Cab Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. Branaire Ducru did an excellent job with this second label. Merlot was the better variety in 2012 as the Cab Sauv had a challenging weather condition. Already enjoyable to drink now, but would also develop nicely with a couple years in the cellar.
