Dense ruby. Need decanting for a couple of hours to show potential. Beautiful nose of dark-red fruits, a bit of mint, and a hint of pencil-shavings. Strangely, didn’t detect a lot of oak, despite being 70% new. Full bodied, medium-plus acidity, and gripping tannins. Powerful and elegant at the same time. Will probably get better with another 3-5 years of bottle age. Good value compared to Bordeaux. Will stock up some more. 92 — 5 years ago
Dark, dense ruby. Explosive nose of dark fruits, flowers in the spring, pencil shavings, mint. Very mouthwatering. Velvety tannins, full body, medium plus acidity. Ripe, rich, and complex. Mineral aftertaste and long finish. 95-96. — 5 years ago
Read fruit. Old leather. Lighter on the palate, and not as complex as '05. — a year ago
Cherry, raspberry, tea leaves, faint vanilla and some resemblance of Bordeaux-like forest floor. A bit light on the palate; very much Burgundian in that regard. Balanced tannin and acidity. Not a super serious wine. Surprisingly good. — 4 years ago
Picked it up during a visit to Singapore, and this was on the monthly store promotion. Pop and poured. Medium ruby. Nose quite restrained, and just a bit more than a small hint of red and black fruits even after 2 hours of being opened. Probably closed down for now. The palate seems to lack weight of a grand cru label, quite dry, herbaceous and lacking the fruit. Big tannins though. The oak is there; a bit too much and overpowering the fruit. Probably better to cellar at least another five years to see the improvement. 89 — 5 years ago
Deep ruby. Black fruit nose, vanilla, cigar wrapper, earth, dry leafs, toasted oak, new leather. Smell like something between a Saint Julien and a Graves wine, in an enjoyable way. Medium to full body, medium plus tannins and acidity. Long finish. 93-94 — 5 years ago
Haven't had a fairly aged red Bordeaux in a long while. It was very good. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. Can see a lot of sediment sticking to the side of the glass after the swirl. Beautiful nose of black fruits, dark chocolate, old leather and cigar box. On the palate, full body, well-balanced acidity and tanin. Long finish. This is probably at its peak performance, so better to drink now rather than cellared. — a year ago
Fresh. Red fruits, some earth, mushroom, and leather on the nose also. Round palate. Good mineral aftertaste. Very good for this price. No need for bottle aging. Buying some more for casual burg fix. — 4 years ago
Very nice. Decanter half an hour. Drank over two days. Picked up red cherries, strawberries, tea leaves, mushroom, leather, minerals on day one. The mushroom and leather note were gone on the second day, as was the bit of tartness on the palate. Nice silky texture in the mouth. Medium+ bodied Burgundy. Quite long finish. 95-96 — 5 years ago

Rene Bouvier, Cote de Nuits-Villages, 2020 vintage. I haven't come across many solid village Burgundy. This is one of them. Punching way above its weight. Nose of blueberries, blackberries, white flower, but also noticed some secondary characteristics of animal skin and mineral notes right away. Mouthwatering. On palate, medium plus weight, dry, fruits and minerals. Long finish, with aftertaste that you get from drinking mineral water. Popped and poured then decant the rest. Half hour of decant seemed to have done the trick. Can be enjoyed now, or keep in cellar for a year or two. — a year ago
