Château Canon-la-Gaffelière
Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

Extremely good. So seductive on the nose; blackberry, dark cherry, violets and roses, plums, vanilla, cedar, liquorice and chantilly cream. Very youthful. Acid is very fresh and tannins are ample, but ripe and fine. Supremely structured and well balanced.

An intricate and tightly woven tapestry of baked fig, cassis, cedar sawdust, black cherry, espresso, tobacco, licorice, incense, and praline, with a full rack of spices. Loaded with intensity, but never heavy. Ethereal and exotic, but feels like home.

Will benefit from a lot of time but it is already great — medium-bodied and quite smooth.

Just smooth and lovely and balanced. Surprisingly bright and balanced fruit. I just had an excellent meritage from Washington, and then pivoted to this. While the washington was one of its finest Meritage blends from Delille, there is a reason Bordeaux is Bordeaux. Props to the french.
