I recently tried a handful of wines from Edmond de Rothschild's Chateau Clarke, which is in Listrac in the Southern Medoc. The 2015 was the choice of the bunch. Apparently there has been quite a bit of work going on at the estate to upgrade facilities and processes. I can believe this. The 2015 is attractive with mocha and tobacco. Nicely balanced and a silky structure. Good now and for a while yet.

It's nice and smooth with plenty of red berry fruit. Good as a sipper, for me, not a lot to write home about.

3.3. Deep purple complex Bordeaux. Needs time to breathe, but has a special taste. Would probably age well, but not worth the price to drink right now. On sale for $24.69, regularly $29.99.

Advanced Bordeaux: Further Exploring the Two Banks Class

From an Irish-founded winery, purchased by the Rothschild family in 1973. Has a round fruit-forwardness with a lingering finish.
