Château Clos L'Eglise
Pomerol Merlot - Cabernet Franc Blend
Lovely nose, very smoky, with fur and old leather, sappy red cherry, plum and cigar, irony and sanguine, with a touch of dried ground. Palate is lithe and fresh, very smoky with plenty of earth and leather, irony, medium concentration and length. Nose is much stronger than palate, lovely aged drop but not a blockbuster nor worth holding further. Drink er' up! 1999 vintage.

May 8th, 2014Cedar box with spice and slightly preserved plum and cherry. Fair depth on a mid-palette that shows a little more dark fruit and chocolate. Smooth, long finish with prune, cranberry, and clove. Drinking well but will probably peak over the next 5-7 years.
