Classic Pauillac estate and a tremendous example of '82 Bordeaux. Still with youthful color and pure black fruits on the nose. Black berries, cassis and rocky earth are all entrenched with firm but velvety tannins finishing this ace.. #KorpiStrikesAgain

Cork came out in 3 pieces, but no cork pieces left in bottle. Color is still medium-red, very faint browning on edges, massive cedar and cigar box aromatics, some pencil lead as well shows on palate, medium-weight, lovely balance, long, lingering finish, great older Bordeaux. Purchased at release for a song ($125/case) still have 5 left, this is one of my all-time favorite Pauillacs in the “non-1st, non-super 2d” category, amazing juice!!

Another outstanding bottle of 1982 GPL. Everything a Bordeaux should be - fully integrated tannins, tobacco, sous bois, leather yet still fresh fruit with the charm of 1980s Bordeaux. A real treat to open any 1982 Bordeaux and certainly GPL is one of my favorite values.

May 23rd, 2021Merry Christmas all. Stepping back in time to 1982 is always a treat for Bordeaux and this Grand Puy Lacoste was the whole package. Tobacco, leather and dark fruits on the nose are replicated perfectly in the palate with a long finish. Felt like we stepped into a time machine. Just fantastic stuff.

1947 and 1982 Grand Puy Lacoste! 47 had huge fruit for its age but a little ripe and tawny; 82 hit on all strides with cedar, cassis, and dark berries
