Outstanding claret. Old library, leather, tobacco and blue fruits on the perfume. Palate is perfectly balanced with blue fruits, cassis and fully integrated tannins and that mid-palate sweetness I love in old wines. Incredible and long finish. — 2 years ago
Truly a memorable wine experience for this perfectly stored Sassicaia. The perfume on this wine was mesmerizing - Licorice, old library, tobacco leaves, leather and spice with a touch of cassis. I nosed it for 10 min before even tasting it (praying to the wine gods that the wine was intact) - perfection on the nose in my book. The palate lived up to the nose and perfectly reflected the notes with an added touch of dried roses and a hint of graphite. Why not a 10? The finish was a tad short, but I’m splitting hairs - I bought two more bottles of this from the amazing restaurant we ate at - La Caravella - in Amalfi. An outstanding restaurant, rich history (including a 1000 year old wine cellar with 20k bottles of wine which the staff graciously offered for me to tour) and lovely chef. A must visit for any wine/food geek if you’re on the Amalfi Coast. — 3 years ago
Mesmerizing - took about 45 mins for the nose to spring to life but boy did it - violets juxtaposed with graphite and old library notes - sexy. Palate was outstanding- blue fruits, spice box, tobacco, leather and extremely long and silky finish. A perfect wine in my opinion — 2 years ago
Recent acquisition from my Italy trip. Excellent Brunello - typical licorice, cedar and black cherry notes I love in this style of wine with the body and acidity to bring it all together. Damn I wish I had more of these. — 2 years ago
Wow this was an excellent find in Roma! A perfect bottle of 95 Flaccianello - funky nose of a bit of cheese and blue fruits have way to a palate that was silky and just kept gaining intensity over the 3h it was opened - blue fruits, cedar, truffles and a touch of licorice. What a great experience on a Tuscan classic! — 3 years ago
Awesome old Heitz in perfect condition. Eucalyptus, cedar, blue fruits and smoke and combined to finesse this wine into something magical. Old Napa is pretty special. — 3 years ago
First time I opened one of these 1.5 years ago it was totally closed. Now it’s back open for business and lovely. If blindfolded, based on the perfume alone I would have guessed a Margaux like Palmer as it threw off tons of violets, graphite and blue fruits - gorgeous but a tinge of rough edge that blew off after about an hour. Palate still tasted young but had the complexity you look for in an older claret - spice, leather, graphite, blue fruits and a long finish. This is in a great drinking window but easily has decades of life ahead of it. — 2 years ago
Magic hour, magic wine. Pristine bottle of 1995 L’Evangile delivered - graphite, smoke and cassis perfume reflected perfectly in the palate with notes of juicy plums and chewy tannins. Happy Friday y’all — 3 years ago
Buongiorno from Roma and the first bottle of the trip, an excellent brunello from Carpineto. Lots of licorice, tons of fruit and great body - this is built for aging and will likely be tremendous in 10-15 years — 3 years ago

Excellent start to fall with 82’ Cos. Perfume of cassis, old library and saddle leather gives way to an unctuous palate - cassis, hoisin, bacon, animal, tobacco and the classic Cos silky tannins. Excellent wine. — 2 years ago
