This bottle came from a very cold cellar and was showing perfectly!

This bottle came around, but seemed a little past peak.

Amazing. This is the perfect example of a perfect bottle. I would be generous in guessing 1990 but really is more like a 1996 in freshness. Might be my wine of the year!

From a bottle with a slightly sunken cork but a good fill. Nice old wine color. Tawny with some reddish in the rims. Great nose that needed 4 hours of air to become impactful. But in the mouth the fruit and acidity never matched how good the nose is. A disappointment when compared to past bottles of this.

Dark and almost opaque. Notes of black fruit, raspberry, plums, coffee/mocha, old wood floors, tobacco and walnuts. Very balanced in the mouth. Tannins fully integrated. Long finish. With 7 hours of air this was good from open til the last drop. At peak as it has been for many years and can clearly stay there for more.

I feel closer to my dad when drinking this wine. I don’t know why? Big day at Jonata

From magnum. Opened and decanted 4 hrs before serving. Reddish tawny, regal color with lighter rims. Great old Bordeaux bouquet. Notes of dried cherries, tobacco leaf, cola, some rhubarb, forest floor and some old cherry wood. Well balanced and suave in the mouth. Paired well with steaks, and a great contrast to the younger Napa cabs.
