Château Greysac
Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend
Very well cru...decanted for an hr. Ripe finish with blueberry/blackcherry, vanilla, baking spices, leather and earth tones...Medium finish, not terribly complex but a real nice price point for an everyday Bordeaux...

May 13th, 2018Dark ruby in color with a thin purplish rim.
Nice nose with red flowers, blackberries, blueberries, sweet plums, cherries, wood, licorice, spices, vegetables, smoke, bell pepper, peppermint, light coffee, wet rocks, earth, light black pepper, leather, light vanilla, tobacco and bitter herbs. Complex, but still Very tight.
Medium bodied and soft, with medium plus acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, light cloves, vinaigrette and peppercorn.
Nice length on the finish with firm, green tannins and black pepper.
This 6 year old is still young and tight. Nonetheless, it is enjoyable by itself and better with food.
Not fully balanced yet, but shows Nice complexity. Light and soft mouthfeel.
Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature, but I liked it already.
Much more approachable after 15 minutes. Became earthier and austere after 90 minutes of airtime.
(Review is after 30 minutes of airtime)
90 points Robert Parker.
A blend of 65% Merlot, 29% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petite Verdot.
14% alcohol by volume.

Mar 1st, 2017Fine if a touch disappointing. Years ago (maybe the 2000) this was stellar midweek drinking. This was extract-heavy and fairly unbalanced. Not a bad wine just not the shocking QPR classic claret of yesteryear.

Apr 26th, 2020Legs, 10. Smells like spice and red berries. Taste: Spicy, and strong but not overwhelming tannins. The fruit sort of floats to the back.

Aug 29th, 2018So @Larissa Mitchell is on European time (I need to NOT wake up at 330am desperately) and then Anthony Bourdain was on CNN touring the French alps. Hence my venture out from California to France. This was the best French I could find at the grocery store.
Not too bad. Strong merlot characteristics but lighter than a California merlot. #inNAPAitrust
Winemaker Notes
Deep ruby-garnet color with aromas of fresh red berries, mingled with notes of cedar and spice. Lovely red fruits, with full rich flavors balanced by silky tannins.

Soft dusty nose, richer nose for bdx w/ a hint of salinity. Haven't tasted this label in 10 yrs, might wait a few more before revisiting. Medium finish of red fruit black olive & light currant.
