Vintage 2010 / my favorite Castillon because it is so seductive in smell and taste. Deep colour, rich smell of cedar and pencil shavings, red summerfruit, velvety taste, satin alike. Roundness and pleasure, still that pretty tension of tannins but very accessible too. Paired with tenderloin. Great Bordeaux from small region.

Vintage 2010 - After 7 y a cardinal red colour, laurel, cherries, eucalyptus and leather, smoooooooth taste from 75% merlot 25% cabernet franc. I love this wine, a Point for winelovers that like fruity wines, way too young for the ones who like their wine mature (like me). Rather rustic. #côtesdecastillon #merlot #loveit

Formidable for an aged merlot blend (2010). Wet stone nose and then my french education gets serious. Hint of smoke and herbs on the palate, grippy tannins and ripe blackberry fruit.
Nearing pop and pour readiness, tasted five times over three days.

This was very dark, cherry-like and well rounded.

Great out of the gate but swiftly lost its stride as the evening went on. Vintage driven.
