Château La Gaffelière
Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend
St. Émilion, Libournais, Bordeaux, France
More developed than anticipated - piercing acid, hoisin and soy sauce, mushrooms, dried leather, and forest floor. Perhaps an off bottle considering other notes.

Dark cassis and dry florals on the nose. Dry tannins, lean body, blackberries, stewed plum, blueberries, dark cherries, old leather, dry brown earth, dry tobacco, coffee grounds, leafs, high acid and a finish that falls a little flat. All these 2000's are just entering their first stage of drinkability. They still need 10-15 more years. And generally, the right bank wines from 2000 don't shine as well as the left bank wines
