Dry tannins, lean body, blackberries, stewed plum, blueberries, dark cherries, old leather, dry brown earth, dry tobacco, coffee grounds, leafs, high acid and a finish that falls a little flat. All these 2000's are just entering their first stage of drinkability. They still need 10-15 more years. And generally, the right bank wines from 2000 don't shine as well as the left bank wines

It wasn’t pruney or hard however, and many at the dinner found it their favorite of the right bank flight. I would call this an extracted style, but it doesn’t go so far as to be over extracted. I would love to check in on this a few years from now.

May 25th, 2015Nose has strong tannin structure to it; I can smell it's huge. Pencil lead, slate, and chewiness scents. Structured mouthfeel. Black cherry, anise, pencil lead, blackberry flavors. Finish lingers and the fruits surge and ebb. Lovely.
