Château La Lagune
Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend
The vintage does not have a great reputation and indeed there’s an austerity to it, which I actually kind of enjoy. It tastes old school. There is some sweet black currant, morello cherry and cassis at the core, some wood and burned coffee notes, wrapped in astringent tannins. A curmudgeon but it cracks a warm smile every now and then

Jun 10th, 2021Lovely lovely wine a great surprise both from the chateau and vintage. The wine was ripe and a pleasure and it seems that 2004 is showing beautifully these days. Deep dark purple, explosive rich and dense nose. Multi laired with loads of dark fruit, cassis , chocolate and black current, full smooth round and rich body, with smooth round tannins and great supporting acidity, the finish was long and delicious. I truly enjoyed. My score 91, drink to 2020
