Gush of alcohol at (dry) cork pop. Thought the bottle was a goner. I decanted for 45 minutes and it totally mellowed into a fabulous Bordeaux. Glad I opened it now. Thanks for always sound advice @Jordan Mackay

2005. Guessed fronsac or st emilion. Almost impossibly low tannin at this splendid vintage. Uncorked at 8pm drink thru 2am, the longer it stays in the bottle the better. Barossa nose at beginning almost watery palate. Kept developing as the ink, soy sauce nose fades away. Bitter cocoa palate at the end. 14% yet burning alc is a drawback. Drink.

Fig, tobacco, blackberry, coffee and dark chocolate. We were a little early on this, it will get better, but still a good bottle much enjoyed
