2016 vintage. Last tasted 6.15.24. Still too fleshy for me. Prob need to decant (or open and put back in the reefer for a day or two) for 3 hours to draw out the tannins that, theoretically, should be there. Enjoying the 2006, 2018 and 2019 vintages a bit more currently. **UPDATE**Came across an opened (2/3rd left from last night's party) bottle and retested. Tannins out and looking for nightlife. Upgraded to 9.3 (7.21.24.) 7.20.24.

2016 vintage, PNP but shoulda decanted and double-parked for 2+ hours. Pretty nose. Medium body but fleshier (St. Émilion style) than led to believe. Was nice but missing the taut balance of fruit and tannins that this producer has been so good with the last handful of vintages. 6.14.24.

rounded fresh fruits, deeply tannic still. aniseed, pepper, like a cured sausage taste. light oak on the nose and on palate. clove. slightly mineralic, granite and graphite, fresh olive, orange rind.

Absolutely delicious. Not sure it’s typical St Estephe though! Vibrant fruit tempered with high acidity and some gravel/earth before supple tannins kick in. Interested to see how this develops.
