Dry to the edge of bitter. Would be good with a sharp tasty dish, but alas I was drinking it without one. A hint of smoke - more the acrid than the woody kind. Maybe it needed to cellar to bring the smoothness forward? Not sure. But as a solo drinking effort, sans sharp old cheese, this one was a swing and a miss.
