Wanted some left bank with a little age, but got hurried out the shop as they are closing so grabbed this in a whim. 80/20 Merlot Cab blend, which are usually to soft for my palette but thus held up. Good QPR!

Forward first nose. Supple smooth feel with notes of plum and blackberry. Rustic but neither earthy nor leathery -idk but I know what I mean. Medium-high tannin.

Nice tannins, not much fruit, but a nice long finish. Has a very interesting nutty quality.

Definitely on the earthy side, as if chewing on the finest Italian (errrr French) leather boots. It finishes with softer strawberry and black cherry notes, while maintaining its earthy character. Little bitterness (drank without food). I'll update after food.
