Premier Grand Cru Classé Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend

Young and primary, but thoroughly enjoyable. Cedar and pencil shavings with a classic leafy cabernet progression.

Medium deep ruby with ruby pink rim. Spicy cassis , dark blackberry , violets , red pepper. A touch herbaceous with tobacco and graphite. On the pallet, nice volume, ripe blackberry , dark cherry, cassis, with that herbal touch from the nose. Quite firm sweet tannin and balanced acidity . Medium length graphite and cassis tinged finish. This is still quite young but approachable, will last well over the coming 10 years or so.

2.5 hour decant (little fine/cloudy sediment). A sensational dark ruby red color. On the nose: beautiful notes of plum, forest floor, vanilla, floral, touch of blueberry, and espresso. Taste: A soft, juicy, silky, structured medium body wine...a classic style for this vintage!...herbs, plum, leather, minerals, and a tobacco cedar medium finish..still firm tannins...wait just a few more years to really come together?

Took its time opening up but after a good 45 minutes or so it finally did. Nice wine, great texture, restrained fruit but present. Lots of richness, spices and good finish. The more it breathed the better it got.

Blown away. Young but evolved beautifully over 3 hours.

Superb bouquet, still quite young, but very accessible for such a young Bordeaux, very fine tannins, good fruit flavours, lovely to drink.
