Château Pouget
Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
2016 vintage. One of the more obscure Margaux Crus Classés, and in the shadow of its stablemate Boyd-Cantenac. Very dark colour. Toasty oak. A bit over-extracted,more power than elegance, leading to a dry finish.

Mar 9th, 20222016 vintage. Last tasted 11.21.21. Gained more weight since then, lost the overt prettiness and has gotten slightly muddy. Def state of transition. Nose has improved tho and contains a bit of that treasured old library/leather/dust about. Should be interesting to revisit in a year or two

Apr 22nd, 20222016 vintage. Last tasted about six months ago. Then, it was light-bodied pushing a concentrated cherry focus with a dusty, lingering finish. Now, a bit more weight is evident. Still elegant but with the cherry dialed down from a boil to a simmer, there’s just enough tannins to make this cellar-worthy. A good choice for complex food pairings since it comes across as relatively simple but beauty stays in the picture and you can easily rock this without that tawdry concept known as grub.
