Needs a few years but is accessible now. Nose needs little coaxing, comes out of the gate with bright cassis, a little of that cool, leafy thing that mid-range Bordeaux can have, gravel, and cedar. The fruit deepens with air. I love the fore-palate, with dense dark berry fruit, but in a mid-weight frame. Back half of the palate tightens up, leaving lots of soft but puckery tannins. Good acids. Bone dry and chiseled. No flab.

Intense purple. Slightly closed nose w lots of sappy, nutty, crushed leaf and pip tones. Not too rustic,more alive with the vivacity of the vine. This feels very much of the vineyard and less of fruit. Perhaps a good choice for natural wine fans to try something of Bordeaux?
