2005 vintage. Beautiful nose, with cassis, blackberries, cedar wood, a little smokiness,and flowers. Seriously concentrated, combining power and elegance. Layers of fruit in a tight but ripe tannic structure. Showing beautifully now, but it should age effortlessly for decades. Classic Saint-Julien.

Frankly my idea of the perfect St Julien. I will be buying this, and L Batron (but no others) from the recent vintages. Finally someone who hasn't gone along with the shitfactory of modern winemaking!

One of my favorites! Still very young and tight. Decanted 1hr+ and needs much more. Slowly started to come alive after 2+hrs. Dark red color. Nose has dark cherries and graphite. Insane velvety texture. Could swirl in my mouth all day long. Balance of Napa and Bordeaux. Medium plus finish.

Pretty good with filet mignon. Not sure if opened too early....just a little lackluster.
