Pessac-Léognan Blanc White Bordeaux Blend

No signs of age, cream and hazelnuts well balanced wine-delish.

My stand out from today’s Sauvignon Blanc benchmark tasting.
An epic spread from local and abroad.
The ‘Silex’ was unfortunately corked.

Just a taste, but clearly amazing.

90 sb 5 % ssuvignon gris 5% semillon 50 % nfo in barrels ftom their own cooper spice rich citrus

Très beau vin à maturité

Medium yellow with a touch of yellow gold, wide watery rim . Beeswax, cut grass, peaches and cream, lemon rind , grapefruit and a touch of toastiness. On the palete quite intense with that grassy note, peach , confit lemon, good acidity and good length. Quite round but the richness is counted by the acidic backbone. Fresh and vibrant with balanced alcohol . This is drinking well now , but will continue at this level for the next 10 years or so.

Decanted and took 2 hours to open. Exquisite aroma of caramel and honeysuckle. Pear, pear and more pear. Meyer lemon, delicious minerality, with a hint of subtle vanilla. Long finish. Just lovely

Young but will be great to look at in a few years.
